Most people who quit pornography and stay quit have one thing in common, and it is not willpower. It is that somebody else knew they were doing it.
If there is nobody in your life you can tell, that is what this is for. Every session is private, confidential, and yours to control — you decide what you share, you do not have to use your real name, and nothing you say leaves the conversation.
Why doing it alone usually fails
Pornography use survives on privacy. That is the entire mechanism. It is why a habit can run for a decade without anything ever forcing the issue, and it is why quitting privately tends to fail quietly — nobody notices when you stop trying, including, after a while, you.
An accountability partner removes the one condition the habit depends on. Not through pressure, and not through shame. Simply because a decision that someone else knows about behaves differently from one only you know about. You stop being the only person who will notice.
This is also the step almost everyone skips. It is by far the most uncomfortable one, and that discomfort is a fairly reliable measure of how well it works.
Who you would be talking to
My name is Edwin Kyalangalilwa. I run StopPorn.com, and I am the person you would be speaking with — not a chatbot, not a different volunteer each time, and not another member paired with you by an algorithm.
I am not a therapist and I do not present myself as one. What I offer is the thing most people are missing and cannot get from an app: a person who knows what you are trying to do, checks in when they said they would, remembers what you told them last time, and does not react badly when the answer is bad.
That is a smaller claim than most pages on this subject make. It is also the part that actually determines whether quitting holds.
What actually happens
- You join, and book your first call. No form to complete and no questionnaire — you tell me as much or as little as you want to.
- We speak every two weeks, on a call you book yourself, at a time that suits you.
- We talk in the evening. Deliberately. Your days belong to the work, the training, the relationship and everything else you are trying to build back up. This should fit around your life rather than interrupt it.
- We agree a specific question I will ask you every time. Fixed in advance, because vague arrangements do not survive a bad two weeks — and a bad two weeks is exactly when they are needed.
- The calls happen whether or not it went well. That is the entire mechanism. Turning up on the bad ones is what makes the good ones count.
- When you relapse — most people do — you tell me, and we work out what came before it. Nothing about the arrangement changes. A relapse is one bad day, not the end of anything.
What happens between calls
Two weeks is a long time if you are struggling, so it matters what the call is actually for. It is not where you get through the two weeks — it is where we look at how the two weeks went and change the plan.
Getting through them is what the plan is for, and you leave every call with one: what you do when the urge arrives, what you have already decided, and who else knows. That is the part that works at eleven at night when nobody is on the phone. The call is where we find out which bits of it held and fix the bits that did not.
If you want someone reachable in the moment as well, say so and I will point you at a support group or a service built for that. It is a fair thing to need, and it is not what this is.
There is no streak counter, no dashboard and no software to install. Those exist and some of them help; they are on the free resources page. This is a different thing, and the reason it works is that it involves a person.
Why evenings
Because the alternative does not work. Scheduling this into the working day means taking it out of the part of your life you are trying to rebuild — and the first thing people do when work gets busy is cancel the call. Evenings are also, for most people, when the urge actually shows up. Talking then is more useful than talking at eleven in the morning.
Sessions are private, and that is the point
Almost everyone who considers this hesitates for the same reason: they do not want anyone to know. That is not a minor obstacle to work around — it is the single biggest reason people never ask for help with this, and it is why privacy is built into how these sessions work rather than bolted on afterwards.
What that means concretely:
- What you say stays between us. Not shared, not repeated, not discussed with anyone else, in any form.
- You do not have to use your real name. Use a first name, a nickname, or nothing at all. It changes nothing about how this works.
- You control what you share. There is no intake questionnaire, no history to disclose, and no expectation that you explain anything you would rather not. "I would rather not go into that" is a complete answer and I will not push past it.
- Your story is never content. It will not appear on this site, in a newsletter, in an example, or anywhere else — not anonymized, not paraphrased, not as a composite. Nothing you tell me is material.
- No trail on your side. I will not contact you anywhere you have not asked me to, and I will never identify what I am contacting you about in a message subject or preview.
- You can stop whenever you want. No exit conversation, no follow-up chasing you, no attempt to talk you out of it.
The reason to say all of this plainly is that vagueness about privacy is what stops people acting. If any of it were not true, the whole arrangement would be worthless — because an accountability partner only works if you can be honest with them, and nobody is honest with someone they are not sure they can trust.
What this is not
It is not therapy. If depression, anxiety, or something that happened to you is underneath this, you need a professional as well — and that is common rather than unusual. Accountability and therapy do different jobs, and one does not substitute for the other. What compulsive use involves, and when to get clinical help, is covered in pornography addiction.
It is not crisis support. If you are in crisis, or having thoughts of harming yourself, please contact a doctor or a crisis line in your country now. I am not equipped for that and I would rather say so than let you find out at the worst possible moment.
It is not a programme with a syllabus. There is no course, no modules, and no certificate. There is the method — which is free and public, in how to stop watching pornography — and there is someone making sure you are still doing it.
Who this is for
- Anyone who has tried to stop privately more than once and could not make it hold.
- Anyone with nobody they could tell. Far more common than people assume, and the reason this exists.
- Anyone who could tell someone in principle, but where the obvious person is the one most hurt by it. Telling a partner is a different conversation, and it is usually not the first one.
If you have someone in your life who could do this, ask them instead. Genuinely. The bar is lower than it feels — it needs one person who will ask you a question once a week. I am the option for people who do not have that.
What it costs
$250 a year, or $25 a month if you would rather not commit to a year. The annual price is two months cheaper.
That works out at around $12 a call — less than most people spend on a takeaway, for a scheduled evening with someone whose job is to ask you the question you have been avoiding. Cancel whenever you want, from your own account page — no email, no conversation about it, no retention offer.
I am one person, so the number of people I can work with at once is limited. If I am full, I will tell you plainly rather than take your money and stretch myself thin, and I will point you somewhere useful instead.
Why it is not free
Two honest reasons. The first is that this takes real hours of my week, in the evenings, and free things get scheduled around rather than kept. The second is that paying changes how people treat it — a call you have paid for is a call you show up to, and showing up on the weeks you would rather not is the entire mechanism.
Everything on this site that helps you do it alone stays free and always will. The method, the tools, all of it. This is the part where a person is involved.
Start
Become a member and book your first call. You do not need to prepare anything or write anything down beforehand.
If you would rather begin on your own, start with the method and come back if it does not hold. That is not a failure — it is the most common reason people end up here, and it is the entire point of the offer.
